Wicker Park Group (WPG) is pleased to announce that Tara Weintritt will join the firm as a partner in September. She serves as Chief Marketing Officer and Director of Client Services at Miles & Stockbridge, where she is a member of the firm’s six-person senior executive team and a participant on its board of directors. Weintritt will be based in Washington D.C. and play a significant role in WPG’s client feedback and client team efforts, broaden its work with law firm leadership on strategy and further expand its lawyer training practices.
“Tara is one of my most trusted industry advisors and closest friends, and I have long envisioned the time when she would join us as a partner. As much as it may be an over-used expression, this is a game-changing event for the role WPG has in serving our clients and the industry,” said Laura Meherg, founding partner of WPG.
“Tara is one of the rare individuals in our industry who can easily move from the law firm board room to a general counsel’s or CEO’s office and then come back to the partners with creative and insightful opportunities to strengthen and grow their client relationships,” said Nathaniel Slavin, founding partner of WPG.
Her areas of expertise emphasize client relationship management (including client service interviews and client and industry team expansion), business development strategy and planning, business development training and branding and communication programs.
“I’m looking forward to working with my professional peers and friends to help them strengthen and grow their firm’s client relationships as well as further develop their strategic initiatives,” said Weintritt. “During my 11 years at Miles & Stockbridge, I developed a passion for shifting the conversation from reacting to clients’ needs to creating compelling strategy to surprise and delight our clients in every way we serve them. WPG shares my passion for guiding lawyers and firms into the modern, client-focused world.”
During her tenure at the leading Mid-Atlantic firm, Weintritt has been responsible for numerous client-facing initiatives, lawyer coaching sessions, business development projects and branding campaigns. She was also a key member of the firm’s strategic planning committee.
“Tara has been instrumental in our firm’s strategy and success. Her contributions towards enhancing existing client relationships and developing new ones have been invaluable,” said Miles & Stockbridge Chairman John Frisch. “While it is never easy to see a firm leader move on, we look forward to continuing to have access to Tara’s strategic advice in a different capacity and know that she will continue to lead change in our industry and profession.”
Weintritt is a leader in the LMA and current co-chair of the group’s 2013 Annual Conference in Las Vegas. She has served as a member of the board of directors and program chair for the LMA Capital Chapter and has presented at the LMA’s national and regional forums on such topics as the use of client feedback to deliver value and drive initiatives in law firm marketing. In 2005 Tara was named Thomson Elite’s “Marketing Director of the Year”, an honor in which she was singled out for having functioned as a catalyst for organizational progress.
Tara received her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Communications, Cum Laude, from the University of North Carolina – Wilmington.
